It's July and we're happy to say Vancouver's weather is finally warm and sunny...
And that also means it's Le Tour time!
First, we're proudly sporting our Road Holland jerseys. And, from Red Dots Cycling we both showcase the classic tweed... The Classic Racer Cycling Cap!
After the first week, the Tour looks like a two-horse race between Bradley Wiggins and Cadel Evans. Then again, it's the Tour and anything and most everything can and will happen. There could be others, just chomping at the bit find out who they are.
Last month I was contacted by Paintbox Press to review the book, Pop-Up Tour de France. The World's Greatest Bike Race by Pamela Pease. I was more than happy for this opportunity! A full review will appear on my Cyclingart blog in the upcoming days. You know when things are meant to be?
Today, I received the notice to pick up the book from the post office and it was perfect timing. I had a quick look and enjoy what I see. A hearty Thank you to Paintbox Press for the books!
Guy has the new Bjarne Riis autobiography, Riis-Stages of Light and Dark and he has his tantalizing review on the infamous 1996 Tour winner. And what's happened to Cofidis?
We discuss today's first exciting stage in the mountains, notably with the Col du Grand Colombiere making it's first appearance. Today's winner becomes the new KOMs we talk about the Tourminator.
I go down to the 'trusty fridge' and have a special new beer from Tree Brewing of Victoria, BC to honor a famous native son...
So sit back, have your favorite drink ...enjoy our ride!
Vive le Tour!
